Here you can find my profile, academic endeavours, projects, and extra-curricular interests. I am a recent graduate from IIT Bombay pursuing Data Science, and most of my projects include Python programming.
Recently I have switched careers and am pursuing research in Economics (specifically Health Economics).
I am an avid reader. If you are interested, do check out the Reading section where I have compiled book recommendations and reviews.
Cheers!
I am 23 years of age. My hometown is Mumbai. I have completed a Dual Degree at IIT Bombay: B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
For my masters thesis, I worked in the field of Music Information Retrieval on a task aimed at finding correspondence between mutiple modalities in Hindustani classical music performances. Through the same I managed to publish a paper at International Society of Music Information Retrival (ISMIR), 2023 in Milan, Italy and a related Journal paper in TISMIR 2024.
I am an aspiring Economist. After graduating from IITB and doing a data science job in Bengaluru for 5 months, I realised that my passions lie elsewhere, in economics and the social sciences. I had completed a few elementary courses in economics, psychology and philosophy and also explored these informally through books which motivated me towards this decision. I am currently pursuing RA/Predoc opportunities and plan to pursue PhD in Economics in future. Researching important things related to the well-being of humans and society gives me a sense of purpose.
I am currently working as a Research Assistant at the Department of Economics in IIT Bombay, under Prof. Souvik Banerjee. My project is in health economics. I am researching the risk factors and preventive parameters for late life cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's and Related Dementias (ADRD). In the first part of my project I studied the effect of clinical depression on cognitive impairment and the mediating role of sleep quality, ADL (Activites of Daily Living) and IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) in the link between depression and cognition. Currently I am looking at the impact of early-life education in mitigating the effects of late-life ADRDs.
Philosophy (especially on what it means to live a good life)
Evolutionary Biology (and its implications in daily life)
Any other stuff that is intellectually stimulating
I have completed several courses in Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Bombay as a part of "Additional Learning" and I hold a keen interest in this domain. I believe that knowledge of humanities is non-negotiable if we want to make the world a better place.
